Olaseni Alaka

Olaseni Alaka is a writer, researcher, and cultural advocate exploring history, identity, and heritage. After a distinguished three-decade career in finance, he turned to writing to pursue a personal journey into his ancestral past.

His debut, When the Lagoon Decides, traces his lineage to the royal house of Eko, later Lagos, revealing a story shaped by trade, migration, and memory.

A Prince of Eko, with ties to Iga Idunganran and the Palace of the Olu of Sangotedo, Ibeju Lekki, Alaka is committed to using storytelling to reconnect Nigeria’s past with its creative future.

He lives in Northampton, England, with his wife and three daughters.
